The DEC Filter Series come in a variety of choices. They are used within our Chameleon Ear PRO Series of custom-fitted earplugs/earpieces, as well as sold in “generic-fit” eartip options. Please choose the correct filter for your particular applications.
DECi – Variable Attenuation Impulse Filter (VAIF) (NRR 18-33/34)
The DECi Variable Attenuation Impulse Filter is commonly used within the shooting sports and industrial applications. They increase in protection value as the noise levels increase around the user.
DECx – VAIF w/Complete Blocker Switch (NRR 18-33/34 (open), NRR 33 (closed)
The DECx is a Variable Attenuation Impulse Filter (DECi) that also features a “switch” on the top of its design that can be manipulated to “closed” the filter off from engaging with outside surrounding noise.
DECf Series – Flat Attenuation Filter (low/high frequencies attenuate evenly, NRR10/16/20/25)
The DECf is a series of filters designed for individuals that are dealing with noise from playing music, going to concerts, bartending, autism difficulties, dentistry, etc. It is a filter that attenuating evenly across the frequency spectrum, not degrading the highs or lows. So very good for understanding speech while bringing the overall noise levels down based on the particular filter being used.
DECs – Standard Attenuation Filter (NRR20)
The DECs is a standard attenuation filter that has a static NRR of 20dBs. It works for shotgun sports, and basic attenuation needs where higher levels of protection are not required.
DECm – Motorsports Attenuation Filter (NRR16)
The DECm is specific towards motorsports where users have helmet communications requirements, but still would like to knockdown the road and wind noise.
